When Quest’s clients started demanding greater access to their data via the web, Quest decided it was time to look at how they could reengineer their “green-screen” and windows based applications to be available through a browser interface.

While presenting a daunting task in one respect, it also opened up the possibility of making the application slicker, more intuitive and suitable for a worldwide audience.

And of course, the availability of the product over the web suddenly opened up a whole new marketplace. No longer did they have to consider distance from a client as an impediment to using the system. All client’s now need, is access to a browser. All applications can be run hosted by Quest, leaving the client free to run their business, instead of their IT.

The application is based on the rock-solid IBM Universe database, with the functionally rich DesignBais web development toolset used for the development.
