GCC Servicing Systems

GCC Servicing Systems expands offerings with GServ. For over 25 years, GCC’s guiding philosophy has been IT’S ALL ABOUT SERVICE and the latest service they are providing was made possible by DesignBais.

GCC Servicing Systems’ business is automating all aspects of mortgage servicing and data management for mortgage companies, banks, and credit unions. Servicing is a dynamic segment of the mortgage business with ever-changing government regulations. In this marketplace, GCC must continually deliver innovative business solutions. Their latest product is GServ, a new add-on service that will allow bank tellers and loan officers access to a customer's mortgage loan information.

Traditionally, when it came to banking and servicing systems, a bank had to make a decision: either use the servicing module that came packaged with its core processing system, or work with a separate mortgage service bureau. While the servicing functions of the core processing system were often limited, it allowed bank tellers the ability to perform simple mortgage servicing tasks.

If a bank relied on a separate system to accomplish mortgage servicing, it was uneconomical to grant bank tellers access to it, even through it had increased servicing functionality. GServ solves this dilemma - revolutionizing mortgage servicing for banks and credit unions. The Revolution GServ allows access to a whole new user constituency for GCC. Bank tellers usually have, at most, limited access to mortgage and payment information. GServ’s DesignBais application presents a thoroughly modern and intuitive interface for these users. A unique product to the banking industry, GServ runs in an Internet Explorer browser, keeping training and cost to a minimum. The basic mortgage servicing information is accessed via an Intranet set-up. GCC offers their product using an application provider service model. Their clients access their own data and the Mortgage Servicing application running on a hosted system at a secure site. With the addition of GServ, bank tellers also have access to the information they need from the core Servicing System.

All of the information is retrieved and entered directly into the GCC Servicing System. “We wanted to address this opportunity and knew that the service would need to be easy-touse and web-based to give tellers access to the mortgage data,” comments Jeff Augenstein, GCC’s Director of Software Services, “After reviewing all the tools available in the MultiValue market, we chose DesignBais which was already a proven product with live users plus had all the functionality we needed and more.”

The DesignBais application accesses GCC’s UniVerse database and was developed from scratch by experienced MultiValue developers. The development and test processes went very smoothly, largely to do with working in an environment that was familiar. Only four months from the time GCC started working with DesignBais, GServ was made available to mortgage servicers. After a total of eleven months of development, two large banks went live with the product. Many more are planned for roll out. Additionally, GServ was very well received at GCC’s recent user group convention.

The initial investigation into DesignBais was done by Miranda Liebowitz-Samson, GCC’s Director of Communications. “I’m not a programmer or a web designer,” states Liebowitz-Samson, “but with a very short learning curve, I was able to develop the layout and interface of GServ.” She goes on to say that GServ has become an important sales tool for GCC because of its stateof- the-art look and feel. “We lead with GServ – using it to demonstrate to customers and prospects.”

Up next with this first product successfully implemented, GCC is firmly committed to DesignBais. They have several more possible projects in mind. One is a service that would let borrowers get up-to-date mortgage information for themselves over the web. Yet another project in the planning stage is an archival service that would give mortgage companies, servicers, banks and credit unions easy access to historical data. “DesignBais was the tool that enabled us to develop GServ’s browser-based link into the GCC Servicing system and its Universe database,” concludes Glenn Liebowitz, President and Founder of GCC Servicing Systems, “The result is enhanced productivity for our customers and a larger market for us.”
